Luxury retirement property developer, Audley, has appointed Wates Construction to head up the delivery of a £10 million retirement village in Kintbury, Berkshire.
With building work immediately underway, the project forms the third and final phase of homes to be built at the 39-acre Inglewood retirement village and will see Wates build 24 apartments and nine cottages.
Designed by Gaunt Francis Architects, the new scheme will be constructed adjacent to the two phases already complete at the village.
These comprise developments of 32 and 27 apartments and communal facilities, including a bar, restaurant, lounge, library and luxury health club.
The latest Wates project bolsters the contractor’s expertise in the retirement living sector, which also includes the company’s appointment to Audley’s Chalfont Dene development in Buckinghamshire.
Peter Whitmore, Business Unit Director for Wates Construction, said: “Our appointment to Audley Inglewood marks our continued partnership with Audley and is a reflection of Wates’ far-reaching expertise in the delivery of retirement living projects.
“When building a retirement facility, we continuously place our client and their owners’ needs at the heart of our approach. A fantastic team has been put in place to ensure that we not only achieve this, but also meet our client’s aspirations to create a unique development that surpasses the quality that owners have come to expect.”
